Progressive, Child-centered Swim Lessons

We provide a child-centered, progressive system--designed to make children safer in and around the water. All instructors are certified by Swim Lessons University and hold current CPR & First Aid certificates.

Choose the lesson time that best fits your schedule. Classes are available morning, afternoon and evening on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Saturday classes are also available.

Parent & Tot
- Tots 9 months to 36 months old.
Prerequisite: Students must have a swim diaper, either disposable or reusable. Click HERE for more info.
Toddlers ages 24 months and older will need a Swimways Power Swimr™. Diapers and Power Swimr are both available on site at the Sport Fair Swim Shop.

In Parent & Tot Lessons, babies will be introduced these new aquatic skills:

Water Acclimation
Flutter Kick
Breath Control
Back Kicking Introduction
Basic Surface Swimming Progression
Pop-up Breath
Safety Skill #1 (children learn how to turn around from a seated entry and reach for the wall)
Safety Skill #2 (children learn how to swim a U-Turn back to the side of the pool after entering from a standing position and leveling off)

Swim 101 - Beginners, ages 3 - 5 years old.
Swim 102 - Beginners, ages 6 - 9 years old.
Swim 103 - Beginners, ages 10 - 12 years old.


Description

In Swim 100 level classes, your child will learn to "swim like a fish" thru a child-centered, activity-oriented approach--coupled with unique skill progressions for the following:

First-time Submersion
Breath Control
Front Kick
Back Kick
In-line Kick
Freestyle with "pop-up” breath

Prerequisite: Completion of Swim 100 or swim 25 feet without the aid of a flotation device, face in the water.

Swim 201 - Ages 3 - 5 years old.
Swim 202 - Ages 
6 - 9 years old.
Swim 203 - Ages 
10 - 12 years old.

In Swim Strokes 201, your child will learn how to swim the formal strokes of freestyle with side breathing and backstroke. The Freestyle Side Breathing skill may be the most important skill one learns in the learn-to-swim process. "Swim Strokes 201" is drill-oriented with unique skill progressions for the following:

Kicking with the Kickboard
Back Kicking
Streamline Kicking
Backstroke
Freestyle

Prerequisite: Completion of Swim 200 or swim Freestyle with side breathing for 25 feet.

Swim 301 - Ages 3 - 5 years old.
Swim 302 - Ages 
6 - 9 years old.
Swim 303 - Ages 
10 - 12 years old.


In Advanced Swim Strokes 300, your child will learn the advanced skills of Breaststroke and Butterfly, as well as refine and further develop the Freestyle and Backstroke. All Advanced Swim Strokes 300 classes are drill and technique-oriented.  In this course, your child will practice the following skills:

Freestyle & Backstroke
Breaststroke Kick
Breaststroke Arm Stroke
Breaststroke (Kick & Stroke Timing)
Body Dolphin/ Butterfly Kick
Butterfly Arm Stroke
Butterfly (Kick & Stroke Timing)

Prerequisite: Swim 25 yards freestyle with side breathing and 25 ards backstroke; demonstrate knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly.
NOTE: If no knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly, a minimum of one session of Advanced Swim Strokes 300 is required.
Recommended equipment: Competitive style swim suit, cap, goggles, and fins.

Members of the Pre-Swim Team may train up to 4 times per week. Practice takes place Monday - Thursday, 5:00 - 5:55pm.
